Marti L. Forchion is the Author/Creator of the “A+ COLLEGE PREP PLANNER – the Ultimate College Preparation Guide for High-School Students (and their Parents)” and creator of the CollegePrepPlanner.com website.
A native of New Jersey, raised in sunny south Florida, Ms. Forchion is a graduate of Florida State University where she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in mathematics and was a 2016 recipient of the Florida State University Black Alumni ”Outstanding Alumni Award”.
She has worked for over 25-years as an IT professional and uses her creative and innovative mind to engage and motivate youth to focus on higher education and intellectual pursuits in the STEM career fields.
Ms. Forchion has been married to her college sweetheart, Mark Chapman III for almost 35 years and she is the mother of 3 adult children.
She has been actively involved in student mentoring programs such as Take Stock in Children, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of NE Florida, Junior Achievement, and a number of student leadership programs for many years and believes that a college education is an obtainable goal for most students – including first-generation and other under-represented students.
She is a member of the Jacksonville Chapter of the Links Incorporated, where she serves as the 2nd Vice President and Programming Chair, the Jacksonville Silhouettes and she is also a member of the Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
