Gabrielle is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a specialization in Infant and Maternal Mental Health. As an Afro-Caribbean and Miami native, she has always had a love for giving back and supporting those within her community. She has had the pleasure of working as a family therapist for close to 10 years in the South Florida area. Gabby Cares of South Florida was created as a safe space for multicultural therapeutic work to transpire and change the narrative as it relates to Mental Health within minority communities.
Gabrielle has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Youth and Community Sciences from the University of Florida, a Master’s Degree in Human Services with a specialty in Juvenile Justice System from Nova Southeastern University. She holds a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy (ABD). Her research explores parenting trends and assimilation for 1st and 2nd generation Caribbean American parents.
Gabrielle has presented at the International Family Therapy Association’s 25th World Congress on the Hook-Up Culture within adolescent culture as well as “Ways to break the cycle of Domestic Violence." As well as the Solution Focused BriefsTherapy conference 2022 on Healing Heartbreak.
Gabrielle is a wife, mother, sister, and friend. She enjoys working with individuals and families and views therapy as a safe place to connect with others, build and learn while having fun.
